City College "Stay on the Runway" Fashion Show

On March 30th I had the opportunity to take photos at the second annual City College "Stay on the Runway" fashion show! The pieces from the young designers were incredibly detailed and intriguing. I had a great time capturing the models, designers, and performers in-between runway walks! Most of the designers are currently attending the City College of New York studying design. My favorite photos from the fashion show can be found below!

Elizabeth | Senior Session

For my final senior session of 2016, I had the pleasure of working with Elizabeth! She was so joyful and could not stop laughing the entire session! She was SO much fun to work with! Elizabeth is a business major who has been in the Disney College Program and is going to work for Disney post-graduation! We had a ton of fun doing Disney themed shots as well as other traditional graduation photos on campus. Highlights from Elizabeth's session can be found below!

Rachel | Senior Session

Last month I took photos of the sweetest girl, Rachel! Rachel graduates from Georgia College in Spring of 2017, but wanted to get her photos in the fall before I left Milledgeville, which was incredibly flattering! The session couldn't have gone any better. We started on front campus at Georgia College, taking the traditional grad photos with the cap and gown and then we proceeded to take more fun and laid back photos at Bartram forrest! When we arrived at Bartram, magic hour had just begun and we had the most beautiful light to work with. Another rare part of this session was the necklace that Rachel wore in honor of her best friend whom had past away recently. The photo below is one of my favorites from the entire session because of the meaning behind her tattoo, explained below!

“My tattoo is in memory of my lifelong best friend, Kate, who passed away in a car accident in March. Kate had an identical tattoo on her wrist and I got this one to match her. It’s a swallow bird, and it’s the only bird that, no matter how far away it goes, it can always find its way back home. My necklace is her initials KLC (Kate Leigh Chapman) and her angel date, March 20th, 2016.”

Cameron | Professional Headshots

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with one of my friends, Cameron Arceneaux, in both the studio as well as around campus for some fun professional head shots after class. I've known Cameron since our freshman year of college here at GCSU and he is such a positive, happy and kind hearted individual! He has always been super supportive of my business and has always commented on my previous works saying that he needed to model for me someday.. and we finally made it happen! We had fun laughing, talking and utilizing our short period of time together to get some professional, yet personable head shots to help him with his endeavor of job searching after college! 

Laundromat Series

Hello all! Welcome to my new website and thanks for checking it out! For my first blog post I'm going to highlight my most recent project that I've been working on and the thought process behind it! 

After taking a mini hiatus from my creative photography work to truly narrow down my style and techniques, wanting to produce work of utmost quality, I completed a series that I couldn't be more proud of! I had a total of four female models who helped me achieve my vision and I may add more within the next couple months. One of my favorite images, showcased below, truly embodies the series.

I wanted to create images that played with colors, tones, sharpness, grain and focus. Some of the images have a more vintage feel, due to the location and wardrobe, while others have a modern spin. I utilized all of my resources, a few photography groups on Facebook, the many photography based Instagram accounts that I follow, Pinterest, Tumblr, you name it. While I already had a way of editing and approaching each session, I wanted to find my true style as a photographer. I have always been incredibly hard on myself, paying such close attention to detail and having major OCD tendencies, and I wanted to narrow down my editing style to produce more cohesive images. Each model was given a set of images from which I drew inspiration and brought several different outfits and accessories which I chose from once we reached the location. These girls were so fun to work with! They were all open to my direction and we had so much fun during each session! With creative sessions I try to ensure that the models are having as much fun as I am while I am directing them. It can be difficult to express a vision when it's in your mind, but these girls were all so understanding and more than willing to partake in my request to nail down a 'serious face' for each shot. In addition to the more serious images I also captured several laughing and smiling images as well as 2-3 polaroids for each client to have as a keepsake! At each of the sessions within the laundromat, I also took the models outside and around other areas in town to have a variety of images in different forms of light to play with when I got to the editing stage. While the images taken outside of the laundromat and around town don't particularly fall within the series, I had to take advantage of the models and the styling opportunity I had with them! Additional images of these four models can be found on the page labeled 'digital' and more images from my Laundromat Series can be found below!
